New Brewer in Town

Ringwood Brewery has opened its gates to a competition winner, allowing her to brew her own beer.

Aimee Ryan from Woking took expert guidance from Ringwood's head brewer Jeff Drew to create the new beer from start to finish.  The process involved carefully choosing the ingredients, naming the beer, designing the badge and not forgetting the main event brewing the beer.  Aimee named the ale after her local "The Sovereigns" which is a Mitchell & Butler Ember Inns pub.

Sovereign Smuggler 4.2% abv is a traditional cask beer also derived its name from the UK grown Sovereign hops used in the recipe and as a tribute to the area it was created in, famed for its history of smuggling.

Jeff Drew, head brewer at Ringwood Brewery, said: "I was very impressed with how Aimee took everything on board and worked hard to create refreshing golden ale that will appeal to all beer drinkers."

Aimee is looking forward to taste the final product at her local Ember in Woking when it goes on sale in July across the estate.
